4th Opening Day – Master Gardeners Activity: Plant a Plant & Sow a Seed 9:30 – 11:30 Kids will have the opportunity to plant a variety of flowers, herbs & vegetables, using various containers. They can also make a mini greenhouse to take home. Bring your work gloves!
11th Mother’s Day Weekend: 9:30 – 11:30 Kids can make a card for Mother’s Day
18th Customer Appreciation Day: Free refreshments for all of our customers! We’ll also have a drawing for a market gift certificate!
25th Cooking Demonstration: 9:30 – 11:30 We’ll cook up samples using ingredients found at the market

8th Wine Tasting: 9:30 – 12:00 Come see what our local wineries have to offer!
15th Dairy Day: 9:30 – 12:00 Kids can make butter, sample cheese and enjoy an ice cream cone
22nd Safety Saturday: 9:30 – 12:00 Free fingerprinting and kids can tour a police car
29th Alternative Energy Day: 9:30 – 12:00 Blue Ridge Solar, local biodiesel display and Evatran will be displaying the all-electric Nissan Leaf

13th Ag Day: 9:30 – 12:00 Check out farming tools and climb on a tractor. We’ll have local agriculture groups and businesses set up
20th 3rd Annual Blueberry Blast: 9:30-12:00 Blueberry toss at 10:30. Try treats made with locally grown blueberries
27th Senior Saturday: 9:30 – 12:00 Join us for live music, free refreshments and an easy cooking demo. We will also be giving out 10% discount coupons to seniors and offering free blood pressure and oxygen checks

10th Health Services Fair: 9:30 – 12:00 Salem Veteran’s Hospital, Wythe County Community Hospital and other health providers will be set up
17th Ask a Food Scientist: 9:30 – 12:00 Canning & food safety demo. Bring your water bath and pressure canners and have them tested for free.
24th Kid’s Day: 9:30 – 12:00 Watermelon eating contest starting at 11:00. Kids can test their hula hoop skills and enjoy some healthy snacks
31st Tomato Tasting: 9:30 – 11:30 Vote for your favorite tomato varieties

12th Pet Adoption Day: 9:30 – 12:00 October is “Adopt a Shelter Dog” month. Local grooming & pet care businesses will be set up, as well as a few animal welfare groups. Can’t adopt? Think about fostering!
